  • FAQ – Dispensing Systems | Technology, Application & Quality | axiss

Answers to frequently asked questions about dispensing systems from axiss – covering technology, applications, process reliability, quality, and documentation. FAQ - Dosiermaschine Technology & Application Process Reliability & Quality Dispensing Machine Trial Day How does axiss develop the right dispensing solution for each application? Every project at axiss starts with the customer’s component – its characteristics, requirements, and the desired level of process reliability.Based on this, we define the working area, process steps, and possible integrations such as plasma, UV light, pre-treatment, or curing. The dispensing valve is then selected according to the dispensing material and cartridge size – regardless of whether the customer ultimately chooses a fully automated system, a manual setup, or only the valve itself. How is the integration of a dispensing machine into an existing production line carried out? Integration takes place via mechanical mounting interfaces and electrical connections such as PLC, fieldbus, or Ethernet.Optional integration into the safety circuit of the production line, as well as communication with MES or ERP systems, is also possible. We support our customers during planning, interface definition, and commissioning to ensure that each dispensing machine is perfectly integrated into the existing production process. How are different dispensing heads or materials implemented in more complex applications? For applications involving multiple materials, the dispensing head can be quickly exchanged via a change system on the Z-axis.In the control software, parameters for each dispensing head can be selected automatically. This ensures a safe and consistent process when switching between different dispensing heads. How are multi-axis systems (e.g. 4-axis setups) programmed for complex dispensing paths? Programming is carried out using teach-in and interpolation within the control software. How fast and accurate do the dispensing systems operate? Cycle time depends on the material, dispensing volume, and axis speeds – from just a few seconds to several minutes per part, depending on the application.Automatic height measurement and camera-based process monitoring ensure that the dispensing distance remains constant and any positional deviations are detected immediately. What interfaces and software features are available? Our control systems support all common industrial interfaces such as Ethernet, Profinet, EtherCAT, digital I/Os, and OPC-UA.The software provides powerful tools for data logging and process management – including dispensing volumes, batch IDs, and test reports. Dispensing programs for different part variants can be stored, managed, and switched quickly.Integration with MES or ERP systems is easily possible, and remote access enables secure support, software updates, and error diagnostics without downtime.

  • 1K Dispensing valve and Dosing Systems | Gear Pump | axiss GmbH

Precise 1K dispensing valves for adhesives, sealants, silicone, UV materials, oils & greases. ✓ Homogeneous material flow ✓ High repeatability ✓ Easy integration into robotic & axis systems. 1K dosing pump Electric Dispensing Valves for 1-Component Materials 1K Dispensing Valves Precise and efficient dispensing of one-component materials such as adhesives, sealants, silicones, UV materials, oils, greases, and other media. 2K Dispensing Valves Electric valve View Products Gear pump View Products Progressive cavity valve View Products Cartridge spindle valve View Products Volumetric dispensing with electric 1K dispensing valves Volumetric dispensing is based on a mechanical positive-displacement principle in which the material is conveyed precisely and independently of pressure or viscosity fluctuations. The result is consistent, highly precise dispensing with maximum process reliability. Gear pump & progressive cavity pump – constant and reliable delivery For continuous volumetric dispensing processes with medium to large flow rates, gear pumps or progressive cavity pumps are used: Gear Pump Ideal for constant material delivery with a stable volumetric flow rate, especially for medium-viscosity media. Progressive Cavity Pump Perfect for highly precise and pulsation-free dispensing – even with very high-viscosity or abrasive materials. Both systems ensure accurate volumetric dosing independent of pressure fluctuations or material properties and are suitable for both automated and manual applications. Suitable for media with low to high viscosity. Flexible volume adjustment for safe and consistent material flow. No dripping thanks to adjustable retraction function. Precise control – parameters can be individually adjusted via machine or external control system. Easy integration into robotic and axis systems. Versatile application – available as machine version, handheld, or standalone solution. Cartridge spindle valve – precision for the smallest volumes The cartridge spindle valve operates with a rotating spindle that moves the material forward in a precise and controlled manner. This technology is particularly suitable for highly viscous, filled, or abrasive media in very small dosing quantities. The adjustable suck-back function ensures a clean material cut-off without dripping. Thanks to electric control, the valve can be optimally adapted to different process requirements. Needle dispensing valve – a cost-effective solution for simple dispensing tasks Needle dispensing valves can be a cost-effective alternative; however, they do not provide particularly high dispensing accuracy. Contact us 4480 Controler The 4480 control system regulates the electric motor of the dosing valves and offers a wide range of settings, including dosing speed, volume, retraction, and more. A digital volume display ensures precise monitoring of the dispensing process. Up to nine programs can be stored and recalled for quick access to different settings. Additionally, external signals such as "cartridge empty," "valve running," and "start", as well as the option for external activation via footswitch, simplify operation and automation. Datasheet Up
